Shell Bronze Grade Fuel

Foss National Leasing has recently become aware of some limited concerns about Shell Bronze grade fuel and possible side effects on fuel delivery systems in vehicles.  It appears this was applicable to a limited number of vehicles, for a limited time and only under very cold weather conditions.  We have contacted Shell and they have assured us that they have addressed any possible cause of this and also they have not been able to reproduce the incidents in their labs.

Shell has provided the following information if you have any further questions or concerns:

"Pursuant to our telephone conversation, we have received feedback from some of our customers experiencing difficulties with their vehicle fuel systems believing their issues could be potentially linked to the use of Shell Bronze gasoline. The types of problems described include plugged fuel filters/pumps and fuel gauge malfunctions. Moreover, the problems appear to be very specific to certain vehicle makes, models and model years.

The issue is being dealt with seriously. We are treating each call individually and have taken steps to address these difficulties.

Should you have customers that experienced fuel system issues similar to those outlined above between October 2001 through February 2002, please have them contact (toll-free) our Shell Customer Support Center at 1-866-900-9100.

Thanks again for your understanding. We sincerely apologize for any of your customers that may have been impacted."
